Description: This dataset was created by the planning policy team in 2012 to identify directions of growth for development within the Local Plan Core Strategy.
Description: This data was created by the conservation officer who routinely considers the status of conservation areas which are drawn around what was considered to be areas of special architectural or historic interest. These form part of a Local Planning policy and are subject to consultations prior to adoption by the Council. The data cannot be changed until a formally consulted upon. It has been checked for accuracy and completeness in 2016 and has been updated by the GIS Officer when any amendements have been made to areas.
Description: This dataset was created by the planning policy team in 2001 to identify the development limit boundary for the settlements in the Local Plan area.Development Limits are a policy within the Richmondshire Local Plan (saved policy 23 of the Local Plan 1999-2006) which are a guideline for the location of development proposals. For example proposals must be located within or directly adjacent to the development limits.
Description: The development high risk area represents a combination of data layers that make up coal mining related risk that affect the surface within the Local Authority or specified area of interest. These data layers include mine entries, probable shallow workings, shallow workings, mine gas sites and areas, surface hazard sites, surface coal mining sites, fissures and breaklines, outcrops and mine entries with their respective zones of influence.
Description: This dataset is owned and maintained by Historic England and has been clipped to only include the features that fall within the Richmondshire District.Historic buildings and archaeological sites of national importance are given legal protection by being placed on a ‘Schedule’ of monuments. Historic England identifies and advises on these monuments, which are placed on the Schedule by the DCMS. Examples of Scheduled Monuments are Roman remains, burial mounds, castles, bridges, earthworks, the remains of deserted villages, and industrial sites. Scheduled Monuments can not include ecclesiastical or residential buildings (except for associated caretaker’s dwellings), and unlike Listed Buildings they are not assigned grades.
Description: This dataset is owned and maintained by Natural England and has been clipped to only inculde the areas for Nidderdale and North Pennines AONB's that fall withinin the Richmondshire District.AONBs are designated areas where protection is afforded to protect and manage the areas for visitors and local residents. Under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000, Natural England has the power to designate areas of outstanding natural beauty (AONBs) in England that are outside national parks and that are considered to have such natural beauty it is desirable they are conserved and enhanced; issue a variation order to change an existing AONB boundary.
